Cho-Foil CCJ

CHO-FOIL CCJ is an aluminium foil shielding tape designed for applications where weight and galvanic compatibility with aluminium housings are primary concerns. It serves as a lightweight alternative to copper tapes while providing effective EMI shielding and grounding. The aluminium foil is naturally resistant to oxidation and provides a clean, silver-coloured appearance that blends seamlessly with most metal electronic enclosures.
The CCJ system features a slightly thicker 2.0-mil (0.0508 mm) aluminium foil substrate combined with a 1.5-mil conductive acrylic adhesive. This combination results in a total thickness of 3.5 mils, providing a robust physical barrier that maintains a through-resistance of less than 0.010 ohms/in². The pressure-sensitive adhesive is formulated for immediate tack, allowing for rapid installation on cable back shells or large-scale shielding room seams without the need for specialised tools.
Despite its lightweight nature, CCJ offers substantial mechanical and thermal durability, maintaining a stable bond up to 205°C. It demonstrates an impressive initial peel strength of 51.2 oz/in, which actually increases under humidity and heat-aging conditions. Fully compliant with UL 94 V-0 and NASA outgassing standards, this aluminium variant is an ideal choice for aerospace applications where minimising mass is critical for mission success.
