Our Exhibition Experiences

EDS staff on stand at the Engineering Design Show.

With exhibition season coming to an end in 2025, its time to look back at our recent ventures to the Engineering Design Show (EDS) and Manufacturing and Engineering North East (MENE).

EDS

Our first adventure in the tail end of 2025 was to Coventry where we unveiled our new exhibition stand at EDS. As one of our major shows in the exhibition calendar, we love attending EDS as it gives us the opportunity to talk not only to current industry specialists, but the future of the industry as students of all ages are in attendance.

EDS further provides us a great launch point for our brand refresh as the new look stand elevates HITEK to another level, giving us the opportunity to showcase what we can offer through our new Television media and streamlined product experience across our new shelving. The new atmosphere and feel allowed for a more positive interaction with the varying visitors to the stand

With EDS in the books for 2025, only one more exhibition remained, MENE.

MENE

With MENE only just entering the books at the time of writing, a lot of impactful things took place at this show. With the Manufacturing and Engineering show being our largest event taking place in the north, We thrive on interacting with people from our neck of the woods.

While EDS was the main place of revealing our new branded stand, our smaller pop up was unveiled at this show. With the focus on showcasing our solutions and the core ranges from our suppliers. this stand takes the best elements from our t3 stand.

We enjoy attending this show as it brings us closer to our local customers as well as potentially exposing new opportunities to the north of England.

Henkel at HITEK

HITEK and Henkel Staff stood together after a quarterly business review.

One of our staple events every quarter is our Quarterly Business Review (QBR) with Henkel. This periods meeting was exceptionally special as we were fortunate to welcome esteemed guests : Dr. Sebastian Barth, Jaona Rajaomaria and Bhagwan Baguri to our site.

The purpose of the talks

This quarters meeting saw massive discussions from both sides as we looked into HITEK’s future alongside Henkel. With the partnership reaching its 25th year, the conversations quickly divulged into how do we continue to build the partnership.

Naturally, the conversations advanced to improvements as the two companies are always looking to continually improve. These conversations provided promising looks into the future as growth in business for both sides is seen as a big must.

Touring HITEK

With HITEK as Henkel’s only gold channel partner in the UK, we’re capable of offering down-packed sizes of Henkel’s signature adhesives, encapsulants and catalysts. We were able to show to our visitors how our process’ have grown, within the company since their last visit. Further to this we also showcased our manufacturing capabilities, including our X/Y cutting and abilities to utilise Henkel’s thermal materials within our solutions.

We would like to thank our partners for visiting our site as it show the trust from them, in allowing us to showcase our capabilities first hand as well as giving us the opportunity talk in person about how our two companies can grow together!

Halloween at HITEK

A ghost Halloween decoration

Halloween is always a special time of year at HITEK. While dressing up in scary costumes is one fun aspect of the day, raising money and enjoying cakes is an even more vital part of the celebration.

Sheffield Children’s Hospital

The money raised from the day went towards an incredible local charity in Sheffield Children’s Hospital. In total we raised an incredible £165.30 for the cause which can be used to help give the best care for children and young people. As one of England’s three dedicated children’s hospital trusts, the charity is invaluable as they can provide mental health care as well as some more specialised services.

You can find out more about the trust here.

How we raised the money

In typical HITEK fashion our bakers were hard at work preparing some spooky treats for the day. ghoulish gateau’s, devils delights and wicked wonders were all baked for our sale as an assortment of cakes, brownies and muffins were sold to staff to help raise money for this exceptional cause.

Getting into the Halloween spirit

As always HITEK staff went above and beyond with this charity event as a lot of effort went into the costumes that were worn by our team. A vast array of characters, movies/shows and even bands were represented this year. From Freddie Kruger to Squid game to a collaborative bee and flower, the spirit of Halloween is never missed here.

Sustainability at HITEK: Discover a Greener Future

At HITEK, sustainability isn’t just a commitment – it’s a core part of our long-term strategy. As Global Recycling Day approaches, we take this opportunity to reflect on the steps we’ve taken to minimise waste, improve energy efficiency, and embed environmentally responsible practices into our operations.

A Structured Approach to Sustainability

Our commitment to reducing environmental impact is reinforced by our ISO14001 accreditation, which provides a structured framework for managing sustainability initiatives. This accreditation demonstrates our ongoing efforts to lower emissions, improve waste management, and increase energy efficiency.

One of our biggest milestones has been our transition to renewable energy. By investing in solar panels, we have significantly reduced our reliance on non-renewable power, cutting our carbon footprint by 69% in 2024. Additionally, 60% of our company fleet is now fully electric, with the remaining 40% hybrid, further reducing our emissions.

Enhancements to our facility, such as upgraded roof insulation, have also improved energy efficiency.

Reducing Waste, Increasing Recycling

Sustainability extends beyond energy use—it’s also about responsible waste management. At HITEK, we have implemented a structured waste hierarchy to prioritise reduction, reuse, and recycling before considering recovery or disposal. Our approach includes:

  • Prevention – Reducing material use in design and manufacturing while extending product lifespans.
  • Reuse – Checking, cleaning, repairing, and refurbishing equipment to maximise longevity.
  • Recycling – Repurposing materials efficiently to create new solutions.
  • Recovery – Exploring innovative solutions such as anaerobic digestion and waste-to-energy conversion.
  • Disposal – Always a last resort, with every effort made to divert waste from landfill.

To support this, we’ve introduced segregated recycling bins throughout our facilities, ensuring waste is sorted effectively for maximum recycling potential.

Driving Continuous Improvement

Our internal ‘Gimme 5’ initiative reinforces our sustainability commitment by targeting a 5% year-on-year reduction in gas, electricity, and water consumption. From 2025, CO₂ emissions and waste will also be included, encouraging every department to identify and implement improvements. By engaging employees through education and awareness, we empower our team to make environmentally conscious decisions in their daily work.

Building a Greener Supply Chain

Beyond our internal efforts, we recognise the importance of working with sustainability-focused partners. That’s why we collaborate with companies like Henkel, ensuring our supply chain aligns with best practices in green manufacturing. These partnerships help us make a broader impact by driving environmental responsibility across industries.

Committed to a Sustainable Future

Sustainability is an ongoing journey, and at HITEK, we’re dedicated to exploring new ways to integrate greener practices into every aspect of our business. As we mark Global Recycling Day, we reaffirm our commitment to reducing waste, enhancing efficiency, and leading by example in the industries we serve.

By continuously innovating and improving, we are not only reducing our carbon footprint but also future proofing our operations for the years ahead.
