Ablestik 45 Clear

Ablestik 45 Clear is a highly versatile, unfilled, epoxy adhesive designed for general-purpose assembly where controllable flexibility is required. As the clear, unfilled version of the standard Ablestik 45, it provides an aesthetically clean finish while allowing for a wide range of mechanical properties. By simply adjusting the ratio of the amine-based catalyst, the material’s final hardness can be tailored from a flexible elastomer to a rigid structural bond, making it an exceptional choice for bonding dissimilar substrates with varying coefficients of thermal expansion.

The adhesive is easy to use and features a generous work life—ranging from 120 to 160 minutes depending on the formulation—which allows for precision in complex assemblies. It exhibits excellent electrical insulation properties across all mixing ratios, with a dielectric strength of 16 kV/mm. This makes it a reliable choice for electronics assembly where non-conductive properties are paramount. The material can be cured at room temperature or accelerated with heat to suit production timelines, with high-temperature cures (105°C) taking as little as 15 minutes.
