Ablestik 104 Epoxy Adhesive
Product Description
Ablestik 104 is a high-performance, two-part, epoxy adhesive specifically engineered for assembly applications that demand extreme temperature resistance and superior chemical stability. This industrial-grade adhesive can withstand continuous service at temperatures up to 230°C and is capable of enduring short-term exposure as high as 280°C. Ablestik 104 is particularly effective at bonding metals, glass, ceramics, and thermoset plastics, providing high shear strength across its entire operating range.
The material consists of a black liquid resin and a white anhydride-based powder hardener, mixed at a ratio of 100:64 by weight. One of its standout features is its long pot life, with a working time exceeding 12 hours for a 100g mass at room temperature, allowing for complex assembly processes. Once heat-cured, the adhesive becomes electrically non-conductive, making it ideal for electronics and industrial assemblies where electrical isolation is a critical requirement. It also meets stringent outgassing requirements, making it suitable for aerospace and high-vacuum environments.
To achieve optimal performance, Loctite Ablestik 104 offers several flexible cure schedules, ranging from 6 hours at 120°C to just 1 hour at 200°C. For peak thermal stability and a high glass transition temperature, a post-cure of 2 to 4 hours at the highest expected use temperature is recommended. With excellent resistance to a wide array of solvents, acids, and fuels, this adhesive ensures a durable and robust bond in the most challenging chemical and thermal environments.
