Powered by People: Israel Spry-Brittain – Marketing Developer

IMG 3196 scaled

Powered by People celebrates the individuals who bring their skills, creativity, and personality to HITEK. This month, we’re introducing our Marketing Developer, Israel.

Building our online presence

Israel looks after our website and online presence while also programming new tools and pages with specific goals. It’s a role that constantly sparks curiosity and learning.

“It’s a massive rabbit hole, every project produces more and more ideas to move our online foothold forward.”

Flexibility is another part of the job he values.

“The ability to mould my day how I want it to be is huge. So long as the deadline is met, what and when I do things isn’t an issue.”

Much of what Israel does goes unseen by the public, but that doesn’t make it any less impactful. Behind the scenes, he’s making changes that improve how we work as a company and prepare us for the future.

A keen promoter of improvement

A highlight of his time at HITEK was covering an entire department by himself for around a year. Of course, not all of his achievements are so serious. With a smile, he recalls

“managing to sneak a pair of Crocs into random images for internal social content”

Can’t stop, won’t stop!

Outside of work, Israel doesn’t sit still for long. He’s been the videographer for Scunthorpe Rugby Club for seven years, produces and edits three weekly YouTube shows, and enjoys cheering on the LA Kings when he’s not walking his dogs on Sundays. Every year, he also sets himself something new to learn—whether that’s experimenting with song mashups or creating unique December projects that range from daily Pokémon card openings to recording an AI plays Pokémon series.

Creative

When asked to describe himself, he chose: “Dedicated, inquisitive, creative… and maybe an internet funny man too.”

That blend of curiosity, drive, and humour makes Israel an invaluable part of the HITEK team – both in keeping us digitally strong today and preparing us for tomorrow.

Check back next month to meet another fantastic member of our team!

Technical Tips – What is Crystallisation?

Crystallisation is a process where organic compounds go from a liquid state to a solid crystalline structure. In some cases this prove to be an unwanted phenomenon. In the case of epoxy systems, the risk of crystallisation increases when stored at low temperatures. Crystallisation happens in a very random way and is therefore hard to predict. The process is ultimately dependent on the purity of the raw materials used in the polymer system. The lower the number of contaminants that are present in the system, the higher the risk of crystallisation.

However, the process of decrystallization is possible when necessary. To learn more take a look at the below PDF!
