Stycast ES 2505 is a general-purpose, two-component, epoxy encapsulant designed for potting electrical devices that require both flame retardancy and reliable dielectric performance. This low-viscosity, black resin system is uniquely versatile, as it is compatible with multiple catalysts such as Catalyst 9, Catalyst 11, and Catalyst 24LV to suit different processing needs. Formulated to meet UL 94 V-0 flammability requirements, it provides a dependable safety standard for a wide range of electronic protection applications.

In its uncured state, the material features a base viscosity of approximately 16,000 mPa-s, which drops significantly once mixed to ensure easy flow into tight assemblies. Depending on the catalyst selection, manufacturing teams can benefit from a generous pot life of over 4 hours or choose accelerated heat-cure profiles ranging from 4 hours at 65℃ to as little as 30 minutes at 120℃. This flexibility allows the system to be integrated into diverse production environments, from small-batch manual pours to high-volume automated lines.

Once cured, the compound achieves a Shore D hardness between 72 and 87, providing a high-strength barrier against mechanical stress and moderate thermal cycling. It maintains exceptional electrical insulation with a volume resistivity of roughly 1.7×10^15 ohm-cm and high dielectric strength, ensuring components remain isolated and protected across an operating range of -65℃ to +105℃. With thermal conductivity up to 0.82 W/m-K and a compressive strength of 124 N/mm², it offers a robust balance of thermal management and physical durability.
