EDAG PF 407A E&C

SKU: ED010

Product Description

Loctite EDAG PF 407A is a highly conductive, carbon-filled thermoplastic ink designed for the production of low-voltage circuitry on flexible substrates. This black, screen-printable, material is specifically formulated for compatibility with solvent-sensitive surfaces such as polycarbonate, as well as polyester (PET) and polyimide (PI) films. It is widely utilised in the manufacturing of printed resistors, membrane touch switches, keyboards, and heating elements, while also providing effective protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD).

In its undried state, the ink exhibits a viscosity of 36,000 mPa·s and a solid content of 36%, ensuring excellent screen residence time and consistent performance during high-speed reel-to-reel or manual printing processes. To achieve an optimal dry coating thickness of 6 to 10 μm, EDAG PF 407A is typically applied using monofilament polyester or stainless-steel screens with a polyurethane squeegee. The drying process is highly flexible, with a recommended cycle of 15 minutes at 120°C. This can be adjusted to lower temperature cycles to suit specific substrate requirements.

Once dried, EDAG PF 407A forms a flexible conductive layer with a sheet resistance of approximately 13 to 15 Ohm/sq at a 25µm thickness. It provides a continuous operating temperature resistance up to 105°C and maintains excellent adhesion to a variety of flexible substrates, including paper and PEN. The ink is also designed for cross-compatibility, working seamlessly with silver inks such as Loctite EDAG PF 410, making it a versatile component for complex multi-layer flexible electronic assemblies.
