EDAG 6017SS
Product Description
Loctite EDAG 6017SS is a flexible, carbon-filled, thermoplastic conductive ink specifically developed for high-reliability heating and resistive applications. This black, screen-printable material is designed for compatibility with a wide range of substrates, including polyester film (PET), polyimide (PI), paper, and cardboard. It is frequently utilised in the production of printed resistors, heating elements, and sensing devices, while also serving as an effective shield for protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD).
In its undried state, the ink has a solids content of 27% and a viscosity of 22,000 mPa·s, engineered for excellent screen residence time and stable performance during manual or high-speed reel-to-reel printing. It is compatible with both monofilament polyester and stainless-steel screens and is typically applied to achieve a dry coating thickness of 7 to 12 µm. The recommended drying cycle is 15 minutes at 120°C in a conventional air-circulated oven, though it can be dried at higher temperatures to shorten processing time and achieve more stable resistance values.
Once dried, EDAG 6017SS exhibits a stable electrical resistance within the 20°C to 80°C range and can operate continuously at temperatures up to 100°C. A unique feature of this system is its blendability with the non-conductive ink Loctite EDAG PM-404, allowing manufacturers to precisely adjust sheet resistance from 35 Ohm/sq up to over 1×10⁹ Ohm/sq to meet specific heater power requirements. The cured film maintains a 5B adhesion grade on PET and is fully compatible with silver-based inks like Loctite ECI 1010 for complex multi-layer circuit designs.
