Loctite EDAG 503 62% E&C is a high-performance, silver-filled, fluoroelastomer coating designed for general-purpose application across a wide variety of substrates, including plastics and elastomers. This silver-coloured conductive material is specifically engineered for high-temperature stability and superior environmental resistance against ultraviolet radiation, oxidation, and corona. It is an ideal solution for critical electronic tasks such as EMI shielding, electrical terminations, static bleeds, and the manufacturing of tantalum capacitors and microwave strip lines.

In its uncured state, the coating features a solids content of 62% and a Brookfield viscosity of 1,700 mPa·s, making it suitable for application via brushing, roller coating, dipping, or spraying when diluted with MEK. The material is supplied ready-to-use and possesses a long shelf life of two years when stored in its original, sealed container. It is highly versatile in terms of processing, offering the ability to air dry at room temperature for approximately one hour or undergo a rapid heat-drying cycle of 15 minutes at 150°C to accommodate different manufacturing speeds.

Once fully dried, EDAG 503 delivers exceptional thermal and chemical durability, maintaining its properties at continuous operating temperatures up to 275°C. The cured film is highly conductive, providing a low sheet resistivity of 0.05 ohms/sq at a 1-mil dry coating thickness and a volume resistivity of 127 Ω·cm. Its robust adhesion and flexibility, combined with resistance to acids and alkalis, make it a reliable choice for demanding industrial and aerospace environments where long-term electrical integrity is paramount.
