Catalyst 14 4oz Jar (113g)
Product Description
Catalyst 14 is a white, powder-based anhydride curative designed for high-end epoxy systems that demand the best in thermal and chemical stability. Unlike liquid hardeners, this powder format is engineered to significantly increase the viscosity of epoxy systems, making it an excellent choice for applications requiring enhanced structural build or specific flow control. When fully cured, it delivers peerless high-temperature performance, maintaining its integrity at continuous service temperatures of up to 230°C and intermittent peaks of 260°C.
This catalyst is favoured for large-batch industrial processing due to its exceptional 24-hour pot life, allowing for extended assembly windows and minimal material waste. To reach its maximum physical properties, Catalyst 14 requires a rigorous high-temperature cure, typically involving an initial 3 hours at 150°C followed by a post-cure of 3 to 16 hours at 180°C. Due to its chemical composition, it is essential to keep this material away from moisture to prevent degradation. For applications where a lower viscosity is required while maintaining high-performance standards, Catalyst 17 is recommended as a suitable alternative.
- High temperature performance
- Chemical resistance
