On Friday 1st March HITEK had one of its infamous cake and dress down days, to help raise money for The Beat Goes On. This charity is in association with Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) to help spread awareness for potential undiagnosed cardiac conditions. The Beat Goes On was setup after the unfortunate loss of the organisers son due to an undiagnosed cardiac conditions with no prior symptoms present.
Through this charity 200 cardiac screening appointments have been funded in Scunthorpe for young people within the age range of 14 to 35 years old. These screenings can help save around 90% of deaths from cardiac related issues.
Our efforts saw us raise £70 from cakes and brownies Gordon Ramsay would be proud of.
