Product Description

CHO‑SEAL 1501 is a high‑performance conductive elastomer developed by Parker Chomerics to deliver superior EMI and EMP shielding in demanding applications. Crafted with a silicone binder and filled with pure silver particles, this material offers robust electromagnetic protection with a volume resistivity of just 0.033 Ω·cm as supplied, no conductive adhesive required. Its shielding effectiveness is impressive: ≥ 100 dB at both 100 MHz and 500 MHz (E‑field), ≥ 90 dB at 2 GHz, and ≥ 80 dB at 10 GHz, all tested to MIL‑G‑83528 standards. Mechanically, CHO‑SEAL 1501 is soft and flexible, with a Shore A hardness between 28 and 42. It features a tensile strength of at least 0.552 MPa (≈ 80 psi), tear strength of 3.50 kN/m and a compression set of 80% after 70 hours at 100 °C (ASTM D395 Method B). Thermally, it operates reliably up to around 160–200 °C, making it suitable for high‑temperature environments. For EMP shielding, it sustains survivability at up to 0.3 kA per inch perimeter, while retaining good resilience under vibration (resistance post‑vibration: 0.03 Ω·cm max).
