Ablestik 286 Epoxy Resin

LOCTITE ABLESTIK 286 is a versatile, two-part epoxy adhesive designed for high-performance maintenance and production requirements. It is specifically formulated with a precise level of thixotropy to ensure minimal flow during application without sacrificing essential surface wetting. This makes it an ideal choice for piping applications and assembly tasks where the adhesive must remain in place on vertical or complex geometries. Compatible with most metals and plastics, it serves as a reliable, thermally conductive interface with a conductivity rating of 1.04 W/m-K.
The system features a user-friendly 1:1 mix ratio by volume, consisting of white paste resin and amine-based hardener components. It offers the convenience of a room-temperature cure, reaching full strength in 24 hours at 25°C, though curing can be accelerated with heat to suit faster production cycles. Once cured, Ablestik 286 is electrically non-conductive, boasting a high volume, which ensures safe use in proximity to electronic components.
With an operating temperature range of -55°C to 105°C, this adhesive maintains excellent physical properties, including a tensile lap shear strength of 15.2 N/mm² on aluminium. For applications demanding optimum performance, a post-cure of 2 to 4 hours at the maximum expected operating temperature is recommended.
