ABS-SRB-150-Rod

ABS-SRB is a rigid, epoxy-based microwave absorber with high magnetic loss, supplied in standard rod sizing’s. Capable of being optimised through machining into specific 3D shapes or by selecting different grades with specific electrical RF-parameters, required attenuation can be achieved.

This resin-based absorber provides a high-performance solution for microwave applications requiring structural stability, with a maximum service temperature of 170°C and a high hardness of 85 Shore D. Due to its rigid nature, parts can be bonded with epoxy adhesive or mechanically fixed using integrated threads for bolting. It is particularly effective at suppressing surface currents on antenna array elements and serving as a high-loss material in waveguide environments.

Typical applications include waveguide and coaxial terminations, attenuators on waveguide walls or strip lines, and Satcom LNB components. The material features low water absorption ($< 0.3%$) and a density range of 3.5 – 4.8 g/cc, making it suitable for durable RF-loads and stabilizers in high-frequency applications above 1 GHz.
