This week mark’s a special work anniversary for one of our employees. June Wright has been working for HITEK for 20 years.
Previously working with HITEK’s founders, Reg Shuttleworth and Ed Nixon at Emerson and Cuming for eight years, June built up her product knowledge and customer service skills. When Emerson and Cuming closed, June decided to raise her family and joined HITEK in 1999. When June first started she used to quote standard parts. Now her job focus is on processing orders, liaising with customers and our production team to ensure orders are processed in a timely manner.
When I asked June what she likes about working at HITEK, she said, “I enjoy my job, it has changed a lot over the years. I used to take the typewriter home at night to type the certificates of conformance as they were done by hand not like now when they are automatically printed on the delivery note!”
Supply Chain Team Leader, Sarah Finch said, “June has excellent product knowledge and fantastic working relationships with customers that she has built up over the years; her personal touch is definitely one of her strengths.”
It’s a fantastic milestone in today’s ever changing economic landscape. I asked June how she feels about reaching 20 years at HITEK: “I think it’s an achievement as a lot of people don’t stick at a job very long. I am comfortable here and hope to be here for a bit longer yet.”
HITEK would like to say thank you to June for her commitment to the company and as a sign of recognition, our MD presented June with an engraved carriage clock to celebrate the occasion.
