Stycast EE 4215
Product Description
Stycast EE 4215 / HD 3561 is a two-component, epoxy potting and encapsulating system designed for applications requiring improved heat and thermal shock resistance. When mixed, it cures to a black rigid material suited to protecting electronic assemblies in demanding environments where mechanical stability is important. The system is formulated for heat-cure processing, with the option of room-temperature curing depending on production requirements.
In its uncured state, Stycast EE 4215 contains approximately 50% filler content and has a Part A viscosity of around 80,000 cP at 25℃, while the Part B component is significantly lower in viscosity to support effective mixing. The standard mix ratio is 100:15 by weight, and the resulting mixed viscosity is approximately 2,000 cP. The material offers a working pot life of about 80 minutes for a 200 g mass at 25℃ and exhibits a peak exotherm temperature of approximately 115℃ during cure.
Once cured, the material provides a balance of mechanical strength and stability across temperature cycling. It has a Shore D hardness of 83, tensile strength of approximately 58 N/mm², compressive strength of 155 N/mm², and flexural strength of 106 N/mm². Electrically, it offers strong insulation performance with a dielectric strength of 1,500 volts/mil, making it suitable for high-reliability electronic potting applications.
