Stycast E2534 FR

Stycast E 2534 FR is a halogen-free epoxy potting compound developed for the protection of electronic assemblies that require high thermal performance and reliable electrical insulation. This blue, flame-retardant system is formulated to meet modern environmental standards by eliminating brominated flame retardants without compromising mechanical or electrical integrity. Because it is compatible with multiple catalyst systems, such as Catalyst 9, Catalyst 11, and Catalyst 24LV, it can be easily adapted to various manufacturing setups and production constraints.

In its uncured state, the material features a highly filled, high-viscosity structure ranging from 300,000 to 400,000 mPa-s. This consistency is ideal for controlled dispensing and effective gap filling, ensuring component stability during the potting process. Depending on the catalyst used, the system offers a wide range of processing flexibility with mix ratios typically between 100:4 and 100:8 by weight. Manufacturing teams can choose between room temperature cycles or accelerated heat cures, such as 1 hour at 150℃, to fit specific assembly needs.

Once cured, the compound forms a high-strength shield with a Shore D hardness above 90 and an operating temperature range spanning from -65℃ to +155℃. It effectively dissipates heat from power-dense assemblies with thermal conductivity levels reaching up to 1.5 W/m-K, while simultaneously providing near-total electrical isolation through a volume resistivity in the 10^15 ohm-cm range. These characteristics ensure that encapsulated electronics remain protected against thermal cycling and mechanical stress, maintaining long-term operational reliability in demanding environments.
