Cho-SEAL 1298

CHO-SEAL 1298 is a high-performance conductive elastomer featuring silver-plated aluminium particles in a fluorosilicone binder. This specific combination is engineered to provide excellent corrosion resistance on aluminium surfaces while maintaining reliable electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding. The use of a fluorosilicone binder makes it particularly suitable for applications where resistance to fluids and harsh fuels is required.

The material is classified as MIL-DTL-83528 Type D and is available in both moulded and extruded formats. It demonstrates stable electrical performance with a maximum volume resistivity of 0.012 ohm-cm. Additionally, it provides robust shielding effectiveness across various frequencies.

The elastomer has a Shore A hardness of 70 and an operating temperature range from -55°C to 160°C. It possesses a minimum tensile strength of 180 psi and shows a high resistance to compression set. These mechanical properties ensure that the material functions effectively as both a conductive path and an environmental seal in demanding aerospace or military environments.
