Cho-Seal 1285

CHO-SEAL 1285 is a high-performance conductive elastomer featuring silver-plated aluminium particles dispersed in a silicone binder. This specific composition was designed to provide enhanced environmental protection and increased corrosion resistance. It serves as a reliable solution for applications requiring both electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding and a durable environmental seal.

The material is classified as MIL-DTL-83528 Type B and is available in both moulded and extruded formats. It maintains stable electrical performance with a maximum volume resistivity of 0.008 ohm-cm. Furthermore, it offers strong shielding effectiveness across a wide frequency range, reaching up to 115 dB at 100 MHz.

Physically, the elastomer is designed for resilience with a Shore A hardness of 65. Demonstrating excellent mechanical properties, including a minimum tensile strength of 200 psi and a high resistance to compression. These characteristics ensure consistent performance and longevity in demanding military and commercial electronic environments.
