Stycast Primer S 11NC

Stycast S 11NC Primer is a low viscosity, colourless silicone-based primer designed to enhance the adhesion of room temperature vulcanising silicone resins in encapsulation and potting applications. Supplied as a diluted solution of moisture-reactive material in an inorganic solvent, it is formulated to significantly improve bonding performance where reliable adhesion is critical. This primer is particularly effective when used with silicones exposed to elevated temperatures, supporting assemblies that operate in the demanding range of 200℃ to 250℃.

The material is applied as a thin coating by brush or spray onto clean, dry surfaces, where it reacts with atmospheric moisture to form an active adhesion-promoting layer. Under standard conditions, the recommended drying time is typically 60 to 90 minutes, though this can vary based on the specific temperature and humidity of the production environment. With a density of 0.8 to 0.84 g/cm3 and a low non-volatile content, the primer ensures efficient surface preparation while maintaining a liquid consistency that is easy to apply across intricate parts.

Proper handling and storage are essential for this moisture-sensitive material, requiring containers to be kept tightly sealed in cool, dry conditions between 18℃ and 25℃. Prolonged exposure to humidity before application may reduce its effectiveness, so maintaining a dry environment is vital for consistent results. When applied and stored correctly, primed surfaces can typically be used for silicone application for up to one week, provided the surfaces remain free from dust or other contaminants during that period.
