Stycast 4350
Product Description
Stycast 4350 is a two-component, condensation-cure silicone potting compound designed for encapsulation applications that require both effective thermal management and mechanical flexibility. Supplied as a red liquid resin used with a clear catalyst (CAT 50-2), it is formulated to cure into a thermally conductive elastomer with strong electrical insulating properties. The system is particularly suitable for protecting components that must operate under high-temperature conditions while remaining under low mechanical stress.
In its uncured state, the mixed material has a Brookfield viscosity of approximately 23,500 mPa-s and a density of about 2.1 g/cm³. It provides a manageable work life of around 60 minutes at 25℃ for a 100 g mass, allowing for precision dispensing and degasification. While the system can be cured at room temperature over 16 to 24 hours, the process can be accelerated with heat, typically requiring 2 to 4 hours at 65℃ to achieve handling strength.
Once fully cured, the material delivers a flexible elastomeric structure with a Shore A hardness of 67 and a glass transition temperature of -55℃, enabling reliable performance across a wide operating range from -65℃ to +260℃. It provides a thermal conductivity of 0.95 W/m-K and a dielectric strength of 619 volts/mil, ensuring that heat is efficiently dissipated while sensitive electronics remain electrically isolated. For high-temperature applications exceeding 125℃, a post-cure schedule is recommended to properly condition the silicone rubber for maximum long-term stability.
