Loctite ECI 1014 E&C
Product Description
Loctite ECI 1014 is a high-conductivity, silver-filled thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) ink specifically designed for the next generation of stretchable and flexible electronics. By combining a flexible TPU binder with high-purity silver flakes, this material enables conductive paths that can withstand significant mechanical deformation. It is an ideal solution for medical wearables, smart textiles, and automotive interior applications where the circuitry must conform to complex, moving surfaces without losing electrical integrity.
In its undried state, ECI 1014 is a grey paste with a solids content of 65% and a rheology optimized for screen printing 21,000 mPa·s. The ink features a thixotropic index of 2.1, providing the necessary flow under shear and rapid recovery after printing to maintain fine-line definition. It is suitable for high-speed rotary screen printing and can be diluted with up to 10% dibasic ester (DBE) to fine-tune viscosity. The formulation is intentionally mild, making it compatible with solvent-sensitive substrates like polycarbonate (PC) and TPU films.
Drying is highly flexible, supporting low-temperature processing down to 80°C, which is critical for heat-sensitive foils. While a standard cycle of 15 minutes at 120°C yields the highest conductivity, the material still achieves a respectable sheet resistance of 0.013 Ω/sq/25μ after just 5 minutes at 100°C. Once dried, Loctite ECI 1014 exhibits remarkable mechanical resilience, boasting an elongation before break of >50% and a 5B cross-hatch adhesion grade on PET, ensuring the conductive layer remains robust during repetitive stretching or bending.
