Catalyst 50-2 AMB

Catalyst 50-2 is a pale-yellow curing agent specifically formulated for use with condensation-type silicone resins. Categorised as a “moderate” catalyst, it is engineered to provide a balanced curing speed that is neither excessively rapid nor slow, ensuring a manageable and predictable workflow during the potting and encapsulation of electronic modules. Its low-viscosity liquid state allows for easy integration into silicone systems, ensuring a consistent and uniform blend for high-quality protective coatings.

This hardener is primarily designed for room temperature (ambient) curing, with sufficient hardness typically achieved within 24 hours at 25°C to allow for component handling. While initial cure occurs relatively quickly, full physical and electrical properties develop over a period of 4 to 5 days. For high-volume production requirements, the cure cycle can be shortened by initiating the process at 65°C, followed by a recommended post-cure to ensure maximum material stability. With a robust two-year shelf life and optimal storage between 18°C and 25°C, LOCTITE CAT 50-2 offers a reliable, long-term solution for the manufacture of durable silicone thermosets.
