ABS-SSB is a high-performance microwave absorber composed of a silicone matrix loaded with magnetic particles to maximize absorption efficiency.

This material is specifically designed for high-frequency applications starting above 4 GHz. Due to its high density (3.5–4.8 g/cc) and 70 Shore A hardness, it serves as an excellent stock material for machining precise 3D shapes. The two available grades allow engineers to tailor the attenuation levels based on frequency requirements, with performance evolving linearly relative to the material thickness. Its silicone base provides exceptional thermal stability, maintaining performance in environments ranging from -40°C up to 170°C.

Typical usage of this material is within RF and waveguide systems where customized terminators, attenuators, or surface current suppression are required in order to ensure signal integrity and reduce interference.
