ABS-FLE
Product Description
ABS-FLE is a thin polyurethane elastomeric absorber available in different thicknesses, typically 1, 2, and 3mm. This absorber material is specifically designed for use at the lower frequency range, typically between 1 GHz up to 12 GHz. Capable of being optimised by adjusting the thickness and magnetic loading, required attenuation can be achieved.
This high magnetic loading absorber provides a versatile solution for free space reflections, cavity resonance, and surface current suppression. While the urethane-based version is easy to bond, the silicone version (ABS-FLSE) offers a low-outgassing, high-temperature, and weather-resistant alternative for space or outdoor applications.
Typical applications include lining Aircraft ILS antenna housings, reducing reflections from metal structures, Satcom systems, and microwave housings. The material is durable, with a hardness of 90 Shore A, and can withstand service temperatures from -40°C up to 120°C (higher for the silicone version).
- Frequency range: 1 GHz to 12 GHz.
- Effortless absorption: ABS-FLE, a thin and magnetically loaded urethane material, effectively absorbs low-frequency electromagnetic waves.
- Reduced reflections and surface currents: optimises antenna performance by minimising unwanted reflections and suppressing surface currents.
- Controlled resonances: effectively dampens cavity resonances for improved functionality.
- Versatile applications: ideal for lining antenna housings, reducing metal surface reflection, and enhancing antenna patterns. Easy to bond for seamless integration.
- Extreme environments: for high-temperature or harsh conditions, the silicone-based ABS-FLSE offers similar absorption with superior durability.
- All thicknesses are nominal.
