High Thermal Conductivity Gap Filler Pads

Offers the highest thermal conductivity for low to moderate clamping forces.

High thermal conductivity gap filler pads, with the THERM-A-GAP™ 97X series, offer the highest thermal conductivity value for low to moderate clamping force applications such as; telecommunications equipment, consumer electronics, automotive electronics (ECUs), LEDs/lighting, power conversion and power semiconductors. The THERM-A-GAP™ 97X series is designed for use between heat generating components and their heat sinks.They are all RoHS compliants and have an operating temperature ranging from -55ºC to 200ºC. The following materials can be considered:

THERM-A-GAP™ 974 offers excellent thermal conductivity (6.0 W/m-K), it is composed of a boron-nitride-filled silicone elastomer and comes with an acrylic PSA carrier in order to improve adherence upon application. THERM-A-GAP™ 974 is blue in colour and comes in an array of thicknesses ranging from 0.02 - 0.06 inches (0.51 - 1.52mm). THERM-A-GAP™ 974 is electrically non-conductive and best suited for applications with pressures from 5 to 100 psi (0.03-0.69 MPa), and where high thermal performance is needed. 

THERM-A-GAP™ G974 differs from its 974 counterpart as it is reinforced with fibreglass to increase mechanical strength during assembly, provide resistance against tearing and improve rework capabilities. THERM-A-GAP™ G974 still offers excellent thermal conductivity (5.0 W/m-K), is also blue in colour and comes with an acrylic PSA carrier in order to improve adherence upon application. THERM-A-GAP™ G974 comes in an array of thicknesses ranging from 0.01 - 0.10 inches (0.25 - 2.54mm). THERM-A-GAP™ G974 is electrically non-conductive and also has a UL94 flammability rating of V-0.

THERM-A-GAP™ 976 offers the greatest thermal conductivity value (6.6 W/m-K) and is softer compared to similar high conductivity materials. THERM-A-GAP™ 976 requires lower amounts of force in order to compress and exhibit minimal stress upon components.THERM-A-GAP™ 976 is gold in colour and comes in an array of thicknesses ranging from 0.04 - 0.20 inches (1.00 - 5.08mm). THERM-A-GAP™ 976 is electrically non-conductive and also has a UL94 flammability rating of V-0.
