Military Metal Mesh
Metal/Mesh gaskets were some of the first EMC gaskets to be developed and they still offer a reliable solution today. Combined with appropriate elastomers these gaskets can also provide excellent environmental and weather seals. The types of Metal-Mesh EMC seal types are listed below.
The Mesh gaskets can be obtained is a variety of materials. The main ones are monel (a nickel copper alloy) and Ferrex® (Tin-plated copper clad steel wire), and aluminium. The Polasheet and Polastrip materials are usually made from monel and solid silicone rubber, although aluminium can be provided on special order.
Metalastic® and Porcupine Metalastic® gaskets are made from a thin expanded aluminiumor monel mesh coated in either neoprene or silicone rubber.
The Springline® range of gaskets include the familiar beryllium copper fingers, some of these profiles can be provided in stainless steel and with a variety of finishes.
