Military Elastomer
There are several conductive elastomers that can be considered suitable for Military applications these are:
Cho-Seal 1215/1217* - Silver-plated copper in silicone/fluorosilicone
Cho-Seal 1285/1287* - Silver-plated aluminium in silicone/fluorosilicone
Cho-Seal 1298* - Silver-plated aluminium in fluorosilcone
Cho-Seal S6305/L6303* - Nickel-plated graphite in silicone/fluorosilcone
Cho-Seal 6370* - Nickel-plated graphite in silicone UL 94-V0
The above elastomers with the exception of the nickel-graphite materials are made to meet the Mil-G-83528 standard for conductive elastomers and have been in production and use by military and aircraft manufacturer around the world for over twenty years. The nickel graphite materials are included for here to meet the expanding military need for COTS solutions. These materials should not generally be used in situations where lightning or EMP is expected as they have limited survivability. In such applications use one of the other materials above.
